Thank you 11-25-10

-A A +A

All at Mountain School’s Annual Halloween Carnival had a family fun time.  Mountain School PTA and Carnival Organizing Committee would like to thank the community for coming out on a very busy Halloweekend to support us. We look forward to doing it all again next year on Oct. 29, 2011.
The carnival could not have happened without the enthusiasm and hard work of our volunteers. Thanks to Counselor Jennifer Neil for her dedication to carnival as a community event and for allowing us to use her office as a staging area.  Thanks to mastermind Keith Stephens for our ever popular haunted house, to his army of “dads with tools,” many from Pack 27, for putting it together and to the Los Alamos High School Olions who helped with the scaring.
Thanks to Camille Dickson for designing our advertising and to Vicky Kenamond for distributing it. Special Thanks to Los Alamos Main Street for including our event in their Halloweekend calendar. Thanks to Stephanie Pittman for organizing our cake walks and to all the families who made special treats. T
his year we had 14 carnival game booths run by teacher, parent and student “carnies.” Thank you all. Special thanks to the high school volunteers from Honor Society and Key Club.
For all the “extras” that made carnival great: Thanks to everyone who helped decorate and clean up. Thank you Susan Weatherbie for the bounce house; Mike Naivar for his smoke-ring blowing dragon; LAHS FCCLA for the cotton candy; and many thanks to Taste of NY for catering the hot dogs and awesome Frito pies.
Finally, thanks to Gwen Adams for organizing our silent auction and to all the amazingly generous community businesses who contributed to its success: Aspen Copies, Auto Zone, Bella Cosa Floral, Blue Window Bistro, Bob’s Bodacious BBQ, Boomerang Thrift Shoppe, Brownell’s Hallmark, C.B. Fox, China Moon, The Coffee Booth, Curves, Dan’s Häagen Dazs Café, Daylight Donuts, Debra Steinman Pine Needle Baskets, Don Taylor’s Photo, Fidel’s, Film Festival, The Finishing Touch, The Hill Diner, Home Run Pizza, Hot Rocks Java Café, Janette Browder, Kaleidoscoops and The Fabulous 50’s Diner, KRSN Radio Station, Los Alamos Home Improvement and Ace Hardware, Los Alamos Fitness, Los Alamos National Bank, Los Alamos Sharpening, Metzger’s Do-it-Best Hardware, Monica’s Hair Salon — Styles by Sly, Mountain Air Cleaners, O’Refined, Otowi Station, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Pearl’s Place, Reel Deal Theater, Ruby K’s Bagel Café, Smith’s Grocery Store, Starbucks Coffee, Studio 42, Uli’s Cottontails, Village Arts, Viola’s Restaurant, YMCA, Zia Credit Union.
