Another Empty Bowls Success
The Self Help Board of Directors would like to express our gratitude to our wonderfully generous community who helped sponsor the Empty Bowls Project on March 15.
To our primary sponsors: KRSN 1490 Radio, Los Alamos National Bank, Zia Credit Union, Thrivent Care Abounds in Communities, North Road Inn, Los Alamos MainStreet, many thanks.
Restaurants and businesses that contributed to the delicious lunch: Amy’s Intergalactic Bakery, Aspen Ridge Lodge Assisted Living, Blue Window Bistro, Bob’s Bodacious BBQ, Cat’s Cafe, CB Fox, China Moon, El Parasol, Fusion Cafe, Home Run Pizza, Los Alamos Coop, Los Alamos Medical Center, Morning Glory Bakery, Pajarito Brewpub and Grill, Papa Murphy’s, Ruby K’s, Smith’s, San Martine de Porres Soup Kitchen, Starbucks and Viola’s.
The Craig Martin Experience donated the music. Craig Martin, Aaron Anderson, John Frary, Carl Hagelberg, Rob Heineman, Quinn Marksteiner and Mike Rogers sounded great and gave us their afternoon to entertain us.
We appreciate the student help on March 15 from Los Alamos Honor Society, Key Club and Natural Helpers.
We had a fabulous silent auction with donations from Beall’s, Blue Window Bistro, David’s Old Fashioned Barber Shop, Darla Graff-Thompson, Don Taylor’s Photography, Elegance by Antoinette, Flowers by Gillian, Fran Stovall, Fusion Multi-sport, Jockey Person to Person, LA Tan and More, Maria Writing with Light, North Road Inn, RSVP Quilters, Sonshine Art, Stephanie Hagelberg, Top Nails and Spa, and Uli’s.
The Decadent Table, Southwest Office Solutions and New Mexico Clay helped out too.
There were many groups that helped decorate and create the bowls we sold. Special thanks to the LAHS Art department, UNM-LA Ceramics Studio, The LDS Church in Los Alamos and the Fuller Lodge Art Center.
This fundraiser takes more than 1,500 hours to accomplish successfully and we appreciate every hour that is donated to this project.
