Dance Arts Los Alamos will present its annual Early Childhood Recital at 10 a.m. Saturday at Piñon Elementary School in White Rock.

Audience members will have the opportunity to bid on a piano in a silent auction. Admission is free and a reception to honor the dancers will follow.

DALA’s Early Childhood program is designed to introduce dance in a fun and supportive environment with the goal of instilling a life-long love of dance and movement.

Approximately 100 of DALA’s youngest students will perform a variety of dance styles including Scottish highland, creative movement, pre ballet and tap.

DALA is proud to welcome dancers from the  Family YMCA Indian Classical Dance program. Taught by Alina Deshpande, these special guest artists will present two traditional Kathak pieces.

Dance Arts Los Alamos is offering summer programs for dancers of all ages. Ballet Birds, a week-long intensive for preschool aged children, will focus on the ballets, “The Firebird” and “Swan Lake.”

Each session will include dance instruction, crafts, stories and choreography.

Information about all of DALA’s summer programs can be found on the website, www.danceartslosalamos.org. All summer programs will take place at the White Rock studio, 111 Longview Drive.
