Lobo football signs two midyear transfers
The University of New Mexico football team has signed two midyear transfers to scholarships as part of its 2012 recruiting class.
David Orvick is a 6-foot-2, 217-pound sophomore linebacker from Foothill (Calif.) College. He was a 2011 NorCal All-Conference selection with 66 tackles, 5.5 tackles for
loss, four sacks, eight quarterback hurries and two pass deflections.
Orvick played high school football at Monta Vista High School in Los Altos, Calif.
Before joining the Lobos, Orvick had offers from New Mexico State and Cal Poly and had interest from Utah State.
Also signing with UNM was Bryan Oldenkamp is a 6-5, 280-pound freshman offensive lineman from Chaffey (Calif). College. He started all 10 games at right tackle in 2011.
Oldenkamp played at Hesperia High School in Hesperia, Calif.
Along with the offer from the Lobos, Oldenkamp had scholarship offers from North Texas and Marshall.
