Starting the year off right

-A A +A
By The Staff

On July 24, teens from Los Alamos, Española and Pojoaque gathered at Northern New Mexico College El Rito Campus for the Joining and Understanding Now, Teens Overcome Separation (JUNTOS) annual youth summit.

The purpose of the summit was to discuss a plan of action for JUNTOS’ involvement in the 2009-2010 school year.

Many issues were addressed at the summit including what JUNTOS hopes to accomplish this year as well as how to become better recognized in the communities.

Students also developed closer bonds at the summit, which has given them a great start to the school year.

Students are planning on participating in local events in the communities, holding fund-raisers and social events, and gathering more community involvement.

In doing so, JUNTOS hopes to eliminate the separation that has existed between these communities for several decades and to achieve results that will last for countless generations.

As of right now, JUNTOS continues to grow and to become more noticed community-wide.
