Spotlight on Los Alamos: Detter embracing new horizons during LANB expansion

Janine C. Detter is on the fast track to getting to know the people and organizations served by Los Alamos National Bank as the bank’s new marketing director. Detter, 32, described her excitement during an interview Friday afternoon. “We’re expanding and opening our third office in Santa Fe this year and since I’m relatively new to Los Alamos, I look forward to getting to know both the Los Alamos and Santa Fe communities and making sure that we’re successful in our expansion efforts,” Detter said.Born and raised in Bakersfield, Calif., Detter left home at the age of 18 to attend the University of California at Berkeley. After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology, the former Janine Joseph stayed in the Bay Area until September 2005, when she married Chris Detter and the couple moved to Los Alamos. Chris works at Los Alamos National Laboratory in the biosciences division.Janine Detter worked in the human resources department at LANB for more than two years. In her new position, Detter will have greater opportunity to meet the public and become involved in community events.“I really like interacting with people and enjoy being involved in the community,” Detter said.
