The Los Alamos Hilltopper volleyball team will close out its regular season tonight at Griffith Gymnasium.

Los Alamos beat Española Valley 3-1 Saturday night at Edward Medina Gymnasium to keep its winning streak alive. The streak now stands at 13 straight matches. With the set victory, however, Española Valley managed to snap Los Alamos’ shutout streak of five straight.
The Hilltoppers (14-5 overall, 7-0 in 2AAAA) clinched the district championship last week with its win against Santa Fe and will host the 2AAAA tournament championship Nov. 5. The regular season title for the Hilltoppers also assures them of a berth in the state tournament, which gets underway Nov. 11.
Los Alamos beat Capital (8-10 overall, 3-3 in 2AAAA) by a final of 3-0 in the teams’ first district meeting Oct. 9. The two teams also ran into each other at the Pinto Invitational during the nondistrict season with the Hilltoppers prevailing 3-0 in that contest as well.
