LAHS cross country will meet Monday at high school

The Los Alamos Hilltopper cross country program will meet Monday at the Auxiliary Gym at 3 p.m.

At that meeting, coaches will collect paperwork and ensure physical examinations have been completed.

Workouts will start at 7 a.m. the following morning.

Attendance is required. Those without necessary paperwork will not be allowed to participate.

LAMS football, cross country get started Monday

Fall sports at Los Alamos Middle School will start soon.

Practice for football and cross country is scheduled to begin Aug. 11, while practice for volleyball and cheerleading will begin Aug. 18.

Football practices will be held from 3-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Cross country practices will be held in conjunction with Los Alamos High School practices the first week, including a meeting at 3 p.m. Monday at the high school’s Auxiliary Gym.

Cross country will continue for approximately eight weeks, after which eighth graders will have the option of joining the high school program.

Transportation during the week of Aug. 11 will be provided. See schedule below.

All students must have a current physical examination and all necessary paperwork completed in order to participate.

Here is the transportation schedule for Aug. 11-15:

• Pick-up at Piñon Elementary School: 2:30 p.m.

• Pick-up at Chamisa Elementary School: 2:35 p.m.

• Pick-up at Los Alamos High School: 2:30 p.m.

• Pick-up at Mountain Elementary School: 2:33 p.m.

• Pick-up at Aspen Elementary School: 2:35 p.m.

• Pick-up at Barranca Mesa School: 2:45 p.m.

• After-practice departure from Los Alamos Middle School: 5:20 p.m.
