LAGC driving range, practice green to stay open late Thursdays
Los Alamos Golf Course announced that it will sponsor its Thursday Night Special event each week.
For the Thursday Night Special, lights will be set up for players to hit at the driving range and putting competitions will be held on the practice green.
Additionally, music will be played by Cheytown Productions and The Grill will be open for food service.
The driving range and practice greens will be open until 9:30 p.m.

Hoops camp starts Monday
The annual Hilltopper Basketball Camp is scheduled from May 31-June 11 at Griffith Gymnasium and Auxiliary Gymnasium.
The camp includes four sessions. Session one for kids in kindergarten through third grade, while session two is for kids in grades 4-6. Session three is for players in grades 7-12 and session four is for high schoolers interested in playing for this Hilltoppers this winter.
Price for participation is $40 per session or $75 for two sessions.

Girls basketball camp runs from June 1-5
The Los Alamos Hilltopper Girls Basketball Camp will start Monday.
The camp, for youth in grades K-9, will run through June 5 at Griffith Gymnasium.
For elementary-aged participants, the camp will focus on individual skills. For those in seventh grade and up, it will focus on team offense, team defense, ball-handling and shooting.
For grades K-6, sessions will run from 8-9:30 a.m. For grades 7-9, sessions will be from 6-8 p.m.
Price for participation is $45.

LASG hosing annual summer camp
Los Alamos School of Gymnastics is hosting its 20th annual summer camp.
The summer camp involves several different types of activities, including gymnastics, swimming, roller skating, softball and basketball, as well as several other activities.
The camp will be held Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Price for participation is $36 per day or $160 per week.

Football camp is free for youth
The Hilltopper youth football camp is scheduled for July 12-13.
The youth football camp, which is being organized by Los Alamos head coach Garett Williams, is for athletes entering grades 4-8. The two-day camp runs from 6-7:30 p.m.
The camp is free, but those interested must register July 12 at the high school’s football practice field by 5:30 p.m.
Pro shop hours change at LAGC
Los Alamos Golf Course announced that its pro shop hours have changed.
The pro shop will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 7 a.m.-8:30 p.m. The driving range opens at the same time as the pro shop.
Weekday tee times may be made one day in advance. Weekend shotgun start times will be accepted at 7 p.m. Tuesdays of the week prior.
Native American 5K race to be held in Albuquerque
Registration for the third annual Native American National Championships 5K run is now open.
The race will be held June 12 in Albuquerque.
To qualify for the event, athletes must be an enrolled tribal member in the United States or Canada. Verification must be presented.
A fitness walk and community race are also scheduled.
