Boys hoops games with Highland still on for tonightTonight’s Los Alamos-Highland boys basketball game is still a go.Los Alamos Public Schools’ athletic department confirmed this morning that the varsity and sub-varsity games, which will be played in Albuquerque, will go on as scheduled.Monday’s Los Alamos-St. Michael’s girls basketball games were postponed due to poor weather. The athletic office said it would try to reschedule with St. Michael’s but no date had yet been set.As of this morning, no other scheduled events had been affected because of weather issues.The next game for the girls basketball team is Friday at home against Farmington.
School asking runners not to clear trackLos Alamos Public Schools’ athletic office is requesting that the Sullivan Field track not be cleared with shovels or other tools.According to LAPS, the track surface is fragile and could be damaged when snow-removal tools are used on it.The track’s surface was installed in October 2006.
