Softball selection set for today

The New Mexico Activities Association’s seeding and selection committee will meet today, although as of press time a meeting time had not been announced.

The Class AAAA softball tournament will be held in Las Cruces starting Thursday.

The NMAA will post brackets on its website, nmact.org, immediately following the meeting.

Girls rugby hosting dinner Thursday

The Los Alamos girls U19 rugby team will host a chicken enchilada dinner Thursday.

The dinner will be held at the Elks Lodge. It will run from 5-8 p.m.

Price for the dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 10 and under. Proceeds from the dinner will go to the U19 rugby squad for its 2009 tour of Ireland.

LAGC to host ‘Family Fun Nite’

Los Alamos Golf Course will have a “Family Fun Nite” today.

The event will take place from 2-5 p.m. at the golf course. The event includes a golf clinic, a 4-hole scramble and dinner.

Interested families can sign up at the LAGC. The event is limited to the first 10 registered families.

Price for the event is $30.

YMCA’s Kinder Track registration closes today

The Family YMCA of Los Alamos is accepting registrations for its Kinder Track program.

Kinder Track is for boys and girls ages 4-9 and is an introductory class stressing the basics of track and field events.

The class will meet at Sullivan Field twice per week starting May 18. Registration for the program is open until today.

Price for participation is $32 for YMCA members, $45 for nonmembers.

Volunteers are also being sought to assist with the program.
