Today’s softball game canceled

Today’s softball game between Santa Fe and Los Alamos, which was scheduled for 4 p.m. at Santa Fe High, has been canceled.

Santa Fe scheduled two games to be played today and will keep its game against Capital.

Los Alamos’ next scheduled game is its District 2AAAA opener April 1 against Taos.

Atomic City Roadrunners start pace race season April 7

The Atomic City Roadrunners will open the 2009 pace race season April 7.

The first race will be held at the Los Alamos High School track. That race will start at 6 p.m.

Atomic City Roadrunners meets Tuesdays during Daylight Savings Time hours. Participants predict their finish times to see whose prediction is closest.

Dues for the season are $20 for individuals, $30 for family membership, plus small fees are due at each race.

TNT starts season April 14

The Family YMCA of Los Alamos is now accepting registrations for its Thermo Nuclear Track (TNT) Club.

TNT is for boys and girls 9 and over. TNT is designed to teach youth track and field techniques and compete in events.

Registration is open until April 4. The season starts the week of April 14 and continues through early summer.

Price for participation is $50 for YMCA members, $60 for others.

Atomic Man set for April 26

Registration for the fifth-annual Atomic Man Duathlon is now open.

The Atomic Man run-bike-run event will be held April 26. Registrations are being accepted for the Fat Man (10K-40K-5K) and Little Boy (4K-15K-4K) divisions of the event. New this year is a team competition event.

Only a few slots left for Jemez Mountain Runs

Jemez Mountain Run officials said Monday that only a few openings are left for the event, which is scheduled for May 16.

Those interested who have not yet registered are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.

LALL spring training starts today

Spring training will begin for Los Alamos Little League AAA-AA Division baseball starts today

Sessions will be held tonight, Wednesday and Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

Sessions will be held at the North Mesa fields.

Softball captain’s meeting set for Thursday in White Rock

The Los Alamos County Recreation Department will hold a softball captain’s meeting Thursday.

The meeting will be held in White Rock Town Hall from 5:30-7 p.m. for the upcoming seasons.

Regular team registrations must be completed by April 16. The season will start the first week of May.

Price for participation is $525 per team if the team participates in April’s field work party and $575 without work party participation.
