Football playoff set for FridayThe Los Alamos Hilltopper football team will host the Moriarty Pintos Friday at Sullivan Field in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.The game will be played at Sullivan Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.Price for admission is $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors.No passes except New Mexico Activities Association-issued passes will be accepted.

LA teams hosting Green/Gold hoops scrimmage MondayThe Los Alamos Hilltopper boys and girls basketball teams will hold their annual Green/Gold scrimmage Monday.The Green/Gold game will be held at Griffith Gymnasium. Tip-off time is set for 6:30 p.m.Tickets are on sale from any Hilltopper basketball player or at the door. Price for admission is $2.Also on Monday, the Los Alamos High School choir will be hosting a Frito pie dinner from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. prior to the game. Tickets for the dinner at $5, $3 for elementary school students.

Pair of holes-in-one shot at LAGCLos Alamos Golf Course saw not one but two aces last week.Rueben Gutierrez holed his drive on the 15th Thursday, which also happened to be his 71st birthday. Gutierrez hit a 5-iron off the tee box for his first hole-in-one.Also earning his first ace was Neil Thompson, again on the 15th hole. Thompson earned his ace Saturday, hitting with a 7-wood.

Turkey Trot scheduled for SundayCROP and the Atomic City Roadrunners will hold their annual Turkey Trot Sunday.The race will start at the Los Alamos Posse Shack on North Mesa. Race time is 2 p.m.Turkeys and pies will be awarded to the best time predictors on the 2.56-mile course, and refreshments will be available after the race.CROP will offer T-shirts and sweatshirts for contributions to their organization, and the Roadrunners will give out T-shirts to qualifying members.For more information, call 662-5959 or 672-1639.
