Swim team hosts spaghetti dinnerThe Los Alamos Hilltopper swimming and diving team will host a spaghetti and meatball dinner fundraiser Friday.The dinner will be held in the Los Alamos High School cafeteria. It will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m.Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. Live music will be played during dinner.Price for admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids 8 and younger. Tickets are available from any swimming and diving team member or at the door.

LA hockey team is at home for a pairThe Los Alamos Hilltopper ice hockey team has two home games scheduled this weekend.Los Alamos will face Cibola at 7 p.m. Friday, then square off against Rio Rancho at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.Both games are scheduled for the Los Alamos County Ice Rink. Admission for the games is free.

C-Team girls hoops wins, JV falls WednesdayThe Los Alamos Hilltopper C-Team girls thumped the Albuquerque Academy Chargers Wednesday, but the Hilltopper junior varsity fell at Griffith Gymnasium.Los Alamos’ C-Team took a big 28-7 victory Wednesday night in its season opener. Los Alamos held Academy scoreless in the second period and allowed Academy just three points in the entire second half.Yulia Matlatova had seven points for the Hilltopper C-Team, while Keanna Cohen, Kristina Radosevich and Meghan Schroeder all finished with four points.The Los Alamos JV, meanwhile dropped a 25-17 decision in its opener Wednesday night against Academy.Los Alamos managed just one point in the third quarter, and Academy, for its part, outscored Los Alamos 11-5 in the final period to earn the victory.Meghan Maes had five points for Los Alamos, and Marlena Greene finished with four points.Amber Sandoval-Mendez had nine points for Academy.
