Fastpitch clinic set for June 8

Members of the Los Alamos High School softball coaching staff will hold a pitching clinic June 8.

The pitching clinic will be held from 3-5 p.m. at Overlook Park in White Rock. It is open to girls ages 12-18. Pitchers of all ability are welcome.

Participation in the clinic is free.

Track camp will open June 9

KSC Summer Youth Track Camp will have several sessions scheduled this summer.

KSC Camp is open to boys and girls 6-13.

The camp will cover the basics of track and field competition. USA Track and Field-certified coach and former professional track athlete Bob Koski will run the sessions.

The first session is scheduled June 9-12. Workouts will be held from 6-7 p.m.

Price for participation is $40 per athlete. Participants will receive a medal and a T-shirt.

Online triathlon registration open

Los Alamos County announced that online registration for the 34th annual Los Alamos Triathlon is now open.

Interested participants may visit www.active.com to register for the event, which is scheduled for Aug. 16.

Price for participation in the triathlon is $50 per single competitor, $90 for two-person teams and $120 for three-person teams.

Paper registrations will be available in June at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center, a county news release said.

NMHU hosting soccer camp

The New Mexico Highlands University will hold a summer soccer camp starting June 9.

The camp will be held at Overlook Park in White Rock and run through June 12. It will run from 9 a.m.-noon.

The NMHU camp is open to players of all skill levels and abilities from ages 6-14.

Price for participation is $75.
