Wood, Collins named to RMAC All-Academic track and field team
A pair of former Hilltoppers were All-Conference academic selections for the Adams State College outdoor track and field team.
Distance runner Heather Wood and triple jumper Roy Collins, both former Los Alamos High School standouts, were named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic teams for the Adams State Grizzlies.
Wood, who holds a 3.94 grade point average, was a unanimous selection for the All-Conference first team. Wood, who is a four-time Division II All-American, earned her ninth All-Academic conference selection.
She is majoring in mathematics and computer science.
Collins, meanwhile, was a honor roll pick this season, along with five other Grizzly men. It was the second All-Academic selection for Collins, who has a 3.53 GPA and is majoring in mathematics.
Collins finished third in triple jump at the RMAC championship meet this season.
Radio-controlled car race set for Saturday at Overlook Park
The Northern New Mexico R/C Car Club will hold an on-road and off-road event Saturday.
The races will be held at the Overlook Raceway in White Rock.
Race day sign-ups are scheduled for 9 a.m. and racing starts at 9:30 a.m.
