Turkey Trot will benefit CROP

The annual Turkey Trot will return Nov. 20.
The Turkey Trot is a benefit run for the local CROP organization. It will start at Los Alamos Middle School at 2 p.m.
The run is 2.57 miles. The top 25 finishers will be recognized and all participants have a chance to win turkeys and pumpkin pies in a random drawing.

Junior basketball program returns

The Los Alamos Hilltopper boys and girls basketball programs will host a Jr. ‘Toppers youth program session Saturday.
Players in preschool through second grade will have a clinic at 9 a.m. at Mountain Elementary School’s gymnasium. For players in grades three through eight, the clinic will be held at Los Alamos High School from 9-10:30 a.m.
Interested participants are asked to register online at www.laschools.net.

High Altitude races are Dec. 10

The Family YMCA of Los Alamos will hold its High Altitude Half Marathon and 5K Fun Run Dec. 10.
The run will start at the YMCA. Race time is 8 a.m.
Registrations are being accepted at the YMCA or online at www.laymca.org or active.com. Price for participation for the half marathon is $50 through Nov. 30 and $25 for the 5K.
The event will benefit the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. For more information, call 662-3100.

Basketball scrimmage is Saturday

The Los Alamos Hilltopper boys basketball varsity and JV teams will scrimmage the Albuquerque Academy Chargers Saturday.
The scrimmage is scheduled to start at noon at Griffith Gymnasium. The concession stand will be open.
