Saturday is Elementary School Night at Griffith GymThe Los Alamos boys and girls basketball teams are holding Elementary School Night Saturday.Elementary school students will be admitted free with a paying adult to the two varsity games. The Hilltopper boys play Farmington at 4 p.m. and the Hilltopper girls play St. Pius X at 5:30 p.m.Students are invited to wear their school colors. All local elementary schools will be introduced during the games.
WRLL sign-ups set for Jan. 29-31White Rock Little League will hold three upcoming registration sessions.Registration will be open Jan. 29-31 at Chamisa School from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.Price for participation is $45 for T-ball players, $55 for Minors and $65 for Majors and above. Knights of Columbus hosting free throw shooting contestThe Knights of Columbus free throw shooting contest has been scheduled for Jan. 27 at Griffith Gymnasium.The contest is open to all boys and girls aged 10 to 14 in Los Alamos County and is co-sponsored by the Los Alamos Hilltopper basketball programs.Registration will occur on-site. Participation is free, but every participant must have one parent present to sign a permission slip.Winners will advance to a district contest in Española in February.For more information, call Roger Anaya at 672-0314.
Racquetball league forming at YMCAThe Family YMCA of Los Alamos is currently accepting registrations for its upcoming adult racquetball league.The racquetball league is open to anyone age 16 and over. Several games are guaranteed and the season will end in a tournament.Play starts Feb. 11 and continues through April 20.Price for participation is $25 for YMCA members, $40 for non-members.
