Former LA runner McNiff earns RMAC weekly honor for ASC
Former Los Alamos standout runner Ryan McNiff was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Runner of the Week.
McNiff, a senior at Adams State College, was the first runner of 2010 to earn the RMAC honor.
At last week’s Joe I. Vigil Invitational, McNiff won the men’s 8K race in a time of 24 minutes, 34 seconds, a personal best for him at the Grizzlies’ home course, Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa, Colo.
McNiff led the Grizzly men to a perfect score of 15 at that meet, the second straight year the Grizzlies have pulled off that feat. In fact, the Grizzlies swept all of the race’s seven top spots.
Last season, McNiff earned All-American honors after placing 29th at the national championship race.
McNiff split the honor with ASC women’s runner Kristen McGlynn of Bailey, Colo.
