Officiating clinic set for today
An United States Soccer Federation Grade 9 referee clinic is scheduled for this morning at the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce and the Community Field.
The clinic is a one-day, nine-hour class. Registration is at 8 a.m. and instruction will start promptly at 8:15 a.m.
Grade 9 is entry-level officiating for those interested in calling Los Alamos Youth Soccer League games. Interested participants should be at least 12 years old or entering the seventh grade.
Price for the clinic is $70, including a $45 USSF registration fee and a $25 clinic fee, which may be reimbursed for those officials who referee three LAYSL games.

Volleyball, racquetball registration open at YMCA
The Family YMCA of Los Alamos is accepting registrations for its fall adult racquetball and volleyball leagues.
The racquetball league’s season opens Sept. 4. Games are scheduled throughout the 10-week season and the season ends with a tournament.
The coed recreational volleyball league consists of 4-on-4 play for six weeks starting Oct. 7. That season will also end in a tournament.
Teams of 4-6 players may register at the YMCA through Sept. 30.
Price for participation in the racquetball league is $30 per player for YMCA members and $45 for nonmembers. The volleyball league is $15 per player for members, $20 for nonmembers.

Sports passes are on sale
Los Alamos Public Schools are selling all-sports passes for the 2012-13 academic year.
Passes are good for all regular season athletic events at either Los Alamos High School or Los Alamos Middle School.
