Hershey’s Track & Field returns Wednesday
The Los Alamos County Recreation Division is hosting the Hershey’s Track & Field Program Wednesday.
The program is open to boys and girls ages 9-14. The competition will be at Sullivan Field starting at 10 a.m.
Interested participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate along with registration materials.

Water aerobics classes starting at Piñon Park
Piñon Park Pool is hosting water aerobics classes this summer.
Classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45-8:35 a.m. in White Rock. They are taught by instructor Lori Edmonds-Boone.
All interested students are welcome to take part. Price for participation is $5 for pool members, $6 for nonmembers.

Tour de LA bike race returns June 17
The 40th annual Tour de Los Alamos is set for June 17.
Registration for the Tour de Los Alamos, a cycling race which winds around Los Alamos County, is currently open online. men’s women’s junior’s and citizen’s race categories are offered. In-person registration is scheduled for June 16 at Los Alamos National Bank.

’Topper Soccer School starts June 18
The second session of the Los Alamos High School boys soccer program’s ’Topper Soccer School starts June 18.
The Soccer School is for boys and girls ages 3-9. The session will be from June 18-22 at Rover Park in White Rock.
Price for participation is $35. Registration deadline for the session is June 11.

YMCA golf tournament is Saturday at LAGC
The Family YMCA will host a golf tournament Saturday at Los Alamos Golf Course.
The tournament, now in its third year, has changed its name to the Ed Griggs Memorial Strong Kids Classic. It is scheduled for a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Price for participation is $75 per player. Proceeds go toward financial aid for YMCA youth programs.

Jim Thorpe Race set for June 16
Registration opens this week for the fifth annual Jim Thorpe 5K Race.
The race serves as the Native American 5K national championship. It will be held June 16 at the Southwestern Polytechnic Institute, 9169 Coors Road NW, in Albuquerque.
It is open to all Native Americans in the contiguous 48 states and Alaska.
