Car wash Saturday will support local softball team

The New Mexico Thunder softball team will hold a car wash Saturday at the Shell gas station on Trinity Drive.
The New Mexico Thunder is made up of local players 16-and-under. Money earned from the car wash will help defray travel costs.
Saturday’s car wash is scheduled from 10 a.m.-noon at the station.

Hoops camps set for next week

The Jr. Topper basketball program will host a pair of camps next week for players in grades K-5.
The fundamentals camps start Monday. Price for participation is $70 per player.
For players in grades K-2, the camp will run from 12:30-2 p.m. for boys and 5-6:30 p.m. for girls. Boys in grades 3-5 will have camp from 2-4 p.m. and girls in those grades will have camp from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
All camp sessions will be held at Los Alamos Middle School.

X-country teams holding meeting

The Los Alamos Hilltopper boys and girls cross country team will hold a meeting June 8 at Los Alamos Middle School.
Anyone interested in participating in cross country during the fall 2011 season is strongly encouraged to attend. Information on the season will be discussed, followed by an informal group run.
The meeting is set for 5:15 p.m. in Portable 1.

Summer water aerobics class set

A water aerobics class is scheduled throughout the summer at Piñon Park Pool.
The class will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the pool from 7-7:50 a.m.
Price for participation is $4.50 per class for Piñon Park members, $5 for nonmembers.

Wrestling camp registration open

The Los Alamos Hilltopper wrestling program will host the High-Altitude Camp starting Monday.
The camp, for boys and girls in grades 3-12, will include instruction from Nate Yetzer, assistant coach at Virginia Tech University.
Wrestlers in grades 3-5 will have half-day sessions at the camp. Wrestlers in grades 6-12 will attend full-day sessions.
Price for participation in the three-day camp is $60 for wrestlers in grades 3-5, $100 for grades 6-12.
