LAHS baseball waffle breakfast is Saturday
The Hilltopper baseball program will hold a waffle breakfast fundraiser Saturday at the Masonic Lodge on 15th Street.
Breakfast will be from 7:30-10 a.m. Price is $6 per person. The menu includes waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon and beverage.
Proceeds will go to purchase equipment for the program and cover travel expenses.

LA’s rugby teams host Eldorado Friday
The Los Alamos boys and girls rugby clubs will host matches Friday night at Sullivan Field.
Both teams will play Eldorado. The Los Alamos girls match will play at 6:15 p.m. and the boys match will start at 7 p.m.
Admission to both games is free.

Atomic Man registration is now open
The 2012 Atomic Man Duathlon is scheduled for April 29.
The Atomic Man run-bike-run competition starts and ends at Piñon Elementary School.
Participants may take part in either the Little Boy division (4K run, 15K bike, 4K run) or the Fat Man division (10K run, 40K bike, 5K run). The Little Boy race will start at 8 a.m. and the Fat Man at 8:30 a.m.

Española’s Born 2 Cruise competition returns
The Española YMCA teen center is hosting its second annual “Born 2 Cruise” lowrider, custom bike and model car competition Saturday.
The show is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the teen center, 808 Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park Road.
Registration is $10 per custom bike, $5 per model car. Lowrider registration is free. For information, call 505-927-8425.

Jim Thorpe Race set for June 16
Registration opens this week for the fifth annual Jim Thorpe 5K Race.
The race serves as the Native American 5K national championship. It will be held June 16 at the Southwestern Polytechnic Institute, 9169 Coors Road NW, in Albuquerque.
The race is open to all Native Americans in Alaska and the contiguous 48 states. Registrants must be USA Track and Field members in good standing.
A community 5K race is also scheduled June 16. All interested persons may compete in that race.
