St. Patty’s Dinner set for tonight

The Los Alamos U19 Girls Rugby Team will host a St. Patty’s Dinner tonight.
The dinner will be held at the Elk’s Lodge. It starts at 5:30 p.m.
Price is $10 for adults, $5 for kids. Proceeds will go to offset the team’s travel expenses.   For more information, contact Lisa Harris, 690-4620.

Tryouts for LALL’s Majors starts tonight

Los Alamos Little League’s tryouts for its Majors division will start today on North Mesa.
Tryouts sessions are scheduled for both Thursday and Saturday. Today’s session will run from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday’s will run from 10 a.m.-noon.
Majors baseball is for boys and girls ages 9-12.

Atomic Man Duathlon registration open

Registration is open for the 2011 Atomic Man Duathlon.
The Atomic Man Duathlon, which features two separate races, is scheduled for May 1. Both races start in White Rock.
The duathlon’s Little Boy race (4K run, 15K bike and 4K run) will start at 9:30 a.m. and the Fat Man race (10K run, 40K bike, 5K run) at 10 a.m.
There is a $10 discount for entries received before March 15.

Run for Her Life set for Sunday

The first Run for Her Life 5K and 10K runs will be held Sunday.
The races will start at the Mesa Trailhead near East Park. Racing starts at 9 a.m.
Registration forms are available at several locations around the county and online at www.atomicrunners.com.
Proceeds from the race will go to benefit breast cancer research.

Vote LAHS, LAMS messiest schools

Los Alamos High School and Los Alamos Middle School are involved in a “messiest school” contest, the winner of which receives $30,000 in mobile storage equipment.
The vote is being conducted online. Voters can go to www.rockusastorage.com to vote for the schools.
Voters may cast ballots once per day.
