Youth lacrosse program starting

Registrations for the new Los Alamos Youth Lacrosse program will be accepted at a sign-up session Thursday.
The session will be at the Los Alamos County Ice Rink. It is scheduled from 6:30-8 p.m.
The lacrosse program is for high-school aged boys and girls and for youth league players in grades 4-8.
Registration is $85 per player. The season will run from March-May. Rental equipment may also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hoops clinics return Saturday

The Jr. Toppers basketball skills clinics are scheduled for Saturday.
A session for preschoolers through second grade students is set for 9 a.m. at Mountain School. Students in grades 3-8 will be at Los Alamos High School, also starting at 9 a.m.
The clinics are free of charge and are for both boys and girls.

Rink will close Jan. 28

The Los Alamos County Ice Rink will be closed from 1-2:15 p.m. Jan. 28. The rink will host a private function during that time.
The rink will reopen to the public starting at 2:30 p.m. For more information, call 662-4500.

Wrestling team travels to Capital

The Los Alamos Hilltopper wrestling team will take on the Capital Jaguars tonight in Santa Fe.
The Hilltoppers and the Jaguars, District 2-4A rivals, will square off in a dual match at 5 p.m. This match was a late addition to Los Alamos’ schedule.
Los Alamos also announced it will send half of its team, as scheduled, to this Saturday’s Aztec Duals and the other half to a dual meet at Atrisco Heritage.

KRSN to air boys basketball game

KRSN AM 1490 will broadcast tonight’s boys basketball game.
The Hilltoppers will take on the Bernalillo Spartans. Gene Mortensen will be on the call tonight starting at  approximately 7 p.m.
