Youth lacrosse league starting up in LA

Registrations for the new Los Alamos Youth Lacrosse program will be accepted at a sign-up session Tuesday.
The session will be at Time Out Pizza in White Rock. It is scheduled from 6:30-8 p.m.
The lacrosse program is for high-school aged boys and girls and for youth league players in grades 4-8.
Registration is $85 per player. The season will run from March-May. Rental equipment may also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Volunteers are also being sought to assist with coaching.

Racquetball league starts in February

The Family YMCA of Los Alamos is currently taking registrations for its Adult Racquetball League.
Registration for the league is open through Feb. 5.
Schedules are flexible and interested players can coordinate their own matches for the week with opponents.
Price for participation is $27 for members, $43 for nonmembers.

Wrestling registration closing today

Registration for the Family YMCA of Los Alamos’ Junior Wrestling program closes today.
The Junior Wrestling program is a developmental league for boys and girls in grades 1-6. Practices will be held afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the YMCA. Practices start Jan. 10.
The program is for youth of all abilities. A separate competitive league is also being offered.
Price for participation in the Junior league is $55 for YMCA members, $82 for nonmembers and $83 for members and $123 for nonmembers in the competitive league. Financial assistance may be available from the United Way of Northern New Mexico.
Registrations may be completed at the YMCA or online at www.laymca.org. Volunteers are also being sought for the program.
