Christmas Lights Runs start Monday night

The Los Alamos Triatomics Club will host the 2013 Christmas Lights runs starting Monday.
The runs will take place at various spots around Los Alamos. They will be twice per week, Mondays and Wednesdays, through Dec. 20.
Monday’s run will start at Metzger’s Mobil station on Diamond Drive and go through Western Area. The course is approximately 2.5 miles long.
Other runs are scheduled for the Denver Steel area, Barranca Mesa and the downtown area, among other spots.
Runs will begin at 6:15 p.m. Runners should be stretched and ready to run at that time. Wearing light-colored or reflective clothing is encouraged. Runs are non-competitive and are not for endurance-building.
Anyone interested is welcome to participate.

LAYSL registration is open online

Registration is now open for the spring 2014 Los Alamos Youth Scoccer League season.
Online registration can be done through Feb. 10.

Trail Runs registration is open

Registration for the 2014 Jemez Mountain Trail Runs' two longer races opens online today.

The JMTR consist of a 50-mile, 50-kilometer and a half-marathon. Half-marathon registration starts Feb. 1.

Race slots fill up quickly, so organizers suggest early registration. Registration can be done at http://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=24422.
