Pace Race set for Tuesday 

Due to rainy conditions, last week’s Pace Race was canceled.

The Pace Race is a weekly event hosted by the Atomic City Roadrunners.

Last week’s race was scheduled to be run at Pajarito Mountain, but was called off by the weather.

The next Pace Race is scheduled for Tuesday. It will be run on the Bridges Loop behind the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center. Race time is 6 p.m.

Both 1- and 3- mile courses are planned for that race.

Flag football starts Sept. 22 at YMCA

The Family YMCA of Los Alamos is hosting flag football clinics starting Sept. 22.

The flag football clinics will be taught by former Los Alamos High School head coach Bob Scott. They are scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Sunday afternoons through Oct. 27.

The clinics, which are open to boys and girls ages 8-12, will include lessons on punting, kicking, passing and receiving.

Price for participation is $20 for YMCA members, $30 for nonmembers.
