Golf tourney to benefit BBBS

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern New Mexico will host its third annual Drive For Matches golf tournament July 26. The tournament will be at Los Alamos Golf Course.
The tournament, which is a best ball scramble, will start at 11 a.m.
Price for participation is $100 per individual, $400 for teams. The entry fee includes golf cart and post-tournament dinner, as well as a chance to win one of several available prizes.

Y hosts wrestling skills clinic

The Family YMCA of Los Alamos is offering a wrestling skills clinic starting July 28.
The purpose of the course is to help youth participants develop wrestling fundamentals.
The clinic is for boys and girls ages 5-12. Wrestlers will be matched with other wrestlers who have similar abilities. Price for participation is $40. The clinic continues through Aug. 1.

Splash and Dash set for July 23

The Los Alamos Triatomics multi-sport club will host its third Splash and Dash event July 23.
The Splash and Dash is geared toward athletes preparing for the Aug. 16 Los Alamos Triathlon. The event includes two courses, a 400-yard swim and 5-kilometer run or a 200-yard swim and a 3-kilometer run.
The event is free, but participation is limited to the first 75 registered athletes. Registration is done starting at 6:20 p.m. on the day of the event at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.

Baseball, softball hosts golf tourney

The Los Alamos Hilltopper baseball and softball teams will host their Diamonds in the Rough golf tournament Aug. 16.
The tournament will be at Los Alamos Golf Course.
Price for participation is $80. The fee includes a cart, T-shirt and dinner, as well as a chance to win prizes.
