Mud volleyball tourney returning
The Los Alamos County Recreation Division will host its ninth annual High Mountain Mudfest volleyball tournament July 20 on North Mesa.
The High Mountain Mudfest consists of adult co-ed teams playing volleyball in pits of mud.
Registration is underway. Participating teams must have between 6-12 players 18 years of age or older. All teams must have at least four women on the roster.
Price for participation is $130. Registration deadline is July 18.
Williams top predictor
Ted Williams was the best predictor. Ted Williams was the last one to finish the race, but won the race prediction with a six second error.
Zachary Medin, pushing a stroller with 2 children, had a 25 sec error. Tyler Geoffrion and Roxana Candia had a 48 second error.
With a stormy cold front and windy rainy weather, 18 runners ran the Lollipop figure 8 loop at the turn-about with Paticia Burnside winning the 1 mile with a time of 8:44 and Tom Sandford winning with a time of 11:59.
For the three mile, Paulina Burnside won with a time of 25:43 and Nathan Burnside won with a time of 26:07.
Next week’s Tuesday 6 p.m. pace race will be at Acoma Lane Cul de Sac in Pajarito Acres, White Rock. More info at 672-1639.
