Tourney to benefit BBBS

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern New Mexico will host its second annual “Drive for Matches” tournament at Los Alamos Golf Course.
The Drive for Matches is scheduled for July 20. Price for participation is $100 for each individual and $400 per team, which includes driving range balls, greens fees, a golf cart and dinner.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern New Mexico.

LA football camp slated for July 8-11

The Hilltopper Youth Football Camp is scheduled for July 8-11 at Sullivan Field.
The camp is for students entering grades 4-8. The camp will focus on basic offensive and defensive philosophies and proper techniques.
Price for participation is $55. Registrations can be made to Garett Williams, 994 Nambe Place, Los Alamos.

Mud volleyball tournament returning

The Los Alamos County Recreation Division will host its ninth annual High Mountain Mudfest volleyball tournament July 20 on North Mesa.
The High Mountain Mudfest consists of adult co-ed teams playing volleyball in pits of mud.
Registration is underway. Participating teams must have between 6-12 players 18 years of age or older. All teams must have at least four women on the roster.
Price for participation is $130. Registration deadline is July 18.

Golf swap is today

The Los Alamos Junior Golf Association will host its annual golf swap June 30.
The golf swap will start at 8 a.m. at Los Alamos Golf Course and continue until 3 p.m.
Proceeds from the golf swap will go to support the LAJGA.

Firecracker Fun Run is Thursday

Registration is open for the Family YMCA of Los Alamos’ Firecracker Fun Run.
The run is set for 8 a.m. Thursday. The race begins at the YMCA’s facility at 1450 Iris Street.
Top male and female runners will win prizes. All entrants are eligible for door prizes.
Price for participation is $25, $15 for YMCA members and $10 for entrants age 13 and under.

Tennis tourney to be played in Carlsbad

The City of Carlsbad is hosting its annual Cavern City Tennis Tournament.
The tournament, which is for United States Tennis Association members, will begin July 5. Registration must be completed by today.
Players may enter in up to three events during the tournament. Skill levels and draws will be determined by the number of entries.
Price for participation is $20 for singles and $30 per team for doubles.
