LA football camp starts July 8

The Hilltopper Youth Football Camp is scheduled for July 8-11 at Sullivan Field. Registration is currently underway.
The camp is for students entering grades 4-8. The camp will focus on basic offensive and defensive philosophies and proper techniques.
Price for participation is $55. Registrations can be made to Garett Williams, 994 Nambe Place, Los Alamos.

First Splash N Dash of season is Wednesday night

The Splash N Dash series, which is hosted by Triatomics Multisport Club, will return for its first session Wednesday.
The series is designed for those interested in training for the Los Alamos Triathlon, which is scheduled for Aug. 17.
Participants can choose either a 400-yard swim and 5K run or 200-yard swim and 3K run. All Splash N Dash events start at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.
Registration for each Splash N Dash is done about 30 minutes prior to the start at the aquatic center. There is no fee for participation but registration will be limited to the first 75 entrants.

Golf swap set for June 30

The Los Alamos Junior Golf Association will host its annual golf swap June 30.
The golf swap will start at 8 a.m. at Los Alamos Golf Course. Golfers can bring unused equipment to LAGC to donate prior to June 30.
Proceeds from the golf swap will go to support the LAJGA.

Water aerobics course offered

A water aerobics course is being offered at Piñon Park Pool in White Rock.
The course is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30-8:25 a.m.
Price for participation is $6.50 for pool members and $7 for non-members.

Firecracker Fun Run is July 4

Registration is open for the Family YMCA of Los Alamos’ Firecracker Fun Run.
The run is set for 8 a.m. July 4. The race begins at the YMCA’s facility at 1450 Iris Street.
Top male and female runners will win prizes. All entrants are eligible for door prizes.
Price for participation is $25, $15 for YMCA members and $10 for entrants age 13 and under.

Registration open for golf tourney

Los Alamos Golf Course will host its Parent Child Tournament June 30. Registration deadline is Tuesday.
The tournament is a handicap, 2-person best-ball play or a non-handicap scramble flight for teams consisting of between 2-5 players. A shotgun start is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
Price for participation is $35 per person for LAGC passholders, $50 for non-passholders. Entry fee includes a cart, range balls and lunch.

Carlsbad hosts tennis tourney

The City of Carlsbad is hosting its annual Cavern City Tennis Tournament.
The tournament, which is for United States Tennis Association members, will begin July 5. Registration must be completed by June 30.
Players may enter in up to three events during the tournament. Skill levels and draws will be determined by the number of entries.
Price for participation is $20 for singles and $30 per team for doubles.
