Athletic Night for incoming freshmen students is Tuesday at Los Alamos High School

Los Alamos High School will host its annual eighth grade athletic night Tuesday. The athletic night will be in the Duane Smith Auditorium starting at 6 p.m.
General information on sports programs at LAHS will be given, followed by a chance for prospective eighth grade athletes to meet with coaches from the various Hilltopper programs.
All current eighth graders interested in participating in high school athletics are invited to attend.

Deadline for soccer camp registration is Tuesday

The Los Alamos High School boys soccer team is hosting a summer soccer camp for boys and girls ages 3-9.
The camp has two scheduled sessions, the first from June 3-7 and the second from June 17-21 at Rover Park in White Rock. Registration for the first session is due by Tuesday.

PE, basketball camps start June 10

Justin Black will host summer physical education sessions and basketball basic skills camps at Chamisa Elementary School starting June 10.
There will be two sessions of summer PE, the other starting June 17. There will be morning and afternoon classes for elementary school-aged children.
Summer PE includes dodgeball, speed stacking, Dance Dance Revolution and other activities.
The summer basketball camps, which are also scheduled for the weeks of June 10 and June 17, are for boys and girls in grades 3 and up.
Price for participation is $50 per week.

Firecracker Fun Run registration is open

Registration is open for the Family YMCA of Los Alamos’ Firecracker Fun Run.
The run is set for 8 a.m. July 4. The race begins at the YMCA’s facility at 1450 Iris Street.
Top male and female runners will win prizes. All entrants are eligible for door prizes.
Price for participation is $25, $15 for YMCA members and $10 for entrants age 13 and under.

Tennis clinic is for boys, girls ages 6-15

The Los Alamos Hilltopper boys and girls tennis teams will host the Los Alamos Tennis Clinic starting June 10.
The clinic will be at Mesa Tennis Courts. Instruction will be done by Hilltopper players and coaches.
It is for any interested players between the ages of 6-15. Classes will run from 5:30-7 p.m.
Price for participation is $40 per player. Players will receive a T-shirt.
