Aggies commit 6 errors in loss to Lobos Wednesday
The University of New Mexico Lobo baseball team picked up a season split with the New Mexico State University Aggies, taking a 13-6 win Wednesday at Isotopes Park.
The Aggies (19-18), who defeated the Lobos earlier this month in Las Cruces, committed six errors, four of those coming in the first four innings, as the Lobos jumped out to a 7-2 edge.
The two teams combined to use 14 pitchers in the game.
UNM’s Jake McCasland, the second Lobo pitcher of the ballgame, earned the victory on the hill.
Offensively, UNM lead-off batter Chase Harris went 2-for-5 with 3 RBI and clean-up hitter Mitch Garver was 3-for-3 scoring a run and knocking in 2 runs.
Albuquerque’s game against Storm Chasers postponed until June 19
Wednesday night’s scheduled Pacific Coast League game between the Albuquerque Isotopes and the Omaha Storm Chasers was postponed due to inclement weather.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader June 19.
The Isotopes won Tuesday’s opener of the four-game series 3-1 in extra innings.
Albuquerque will be at Omaha through Friday, then return to Isotopes Park for a quick four-game series against Oklahoma City before hitting the road again.
