Demons crush Sundevils in softball

The Santa Fe Demons blasted the Española Valley Sundevils in their District 2-4A opening softball contest Wednesday afternoon.
The Demons jumped all over the Sundevils, scoring seven runs in the first two innings as they closed out the game 11-0 in five innings.
Santa Fe (7-4 overall, 1-0 in district), which has won three straight pounded out 15 hits in the game while Española Valley (5-5, 0-1) managed just one hit.
Los Alamos will travel to Santa Fe for a doubleheader Saturday.

Run For Her Life is April 14

The third annual Run For Her Life 5K is scheduled for April 14. Race time is set for 9 a.m. starting at East Park.
Run For Her Life is a fundraiser with proceeds going to benefit organizations involved in breast cancer research.

Free lodging at Sipapu

Sipapu Ski Area is offering free lodging for the weekend of April 5-7 with the purchase of a $44 lift ticket.
Sipapu is open this weekend and is reporting a 36-inch base. Sipapu is one of just three areas still open around New Mexico. Santa Fe, which is reporting 35 inches of packed powder, will close after this weekend and Taos is reporting 55 inches and all of its lifts open.
