No one injured in accident after basketball game
A Los Alamos Public Schools SUV was involved in a minor rear-end collision following Thursday’s night’s girls basketball game in Española.
The accident occurred at the stoplight on Fairway Drive and Paseo De Oñate at approximately 9 p.m.
Los Alamos High School athletic director Vicki Nelms said no one was hurt in the accident.
No LAHS student-athletes were in the SUV at the time of the collision.
The SUV is used to transport student-athletes to and from out-of-town athletic contests and is often driven by a member of that athletic program’s coaching staff. However, student-athletes are regularly picked up and driven home by family members at the conclusion of those contests.
A driver heading back to Los Alamos following the contest said a sedan appeared to have ran into the back of the SUV at the intersection. The sedan sustained front-end damage.
