Most of the familiar activities associated with Spirit Week are set to begin today with a few changes.
“The biggest change is the start time for Friday’s Homecoming Parade, which has been moved up to 2:30 p.m. from its traditional 3 p.m. start time of years past,” said Los Alamos High School Assistant Principal Mike Johnson.
“All school release times stay the same and all school bus pick-up and drop-off times remain the same. The only change is to the start of the Homecoming Parade.”
The LAHS Toppers are set to play the Belen Eagles in the big game on Friday night so this year’s homecoming theme is “Endanger the Eagles!”
The Homecoming Parade details are:
• Staging: Begins at 1:45 p.m. on Canyon Road west of 15th Street. Enter Canyon Road from Diamond Drive and proceed east on Canyon Road until reaching 15th Street. The parade send-off begins promptly at 2:30 p.m.
• Route: The parade begins at 15th Street and Canyon Road and proceeds down 15th Street turning right onto Central Avenue, ending at Rose Street.
Judging occurs in front of Starbucks. At the end of the parade, all walking entries go directly to the United Church parking lot for pickup by parents.
