Spirit contest nets student $50

-A A +A

The Los Alamos Youth Leadership team, Airbenders, coordinated the spirit contest during halftime of the girls basketball game against Capital High School last week. Jenna Harris was the winner of a $50 bill donated by Los Alamos National Bank. Harris was blindfolded and had goggles and duct tape around her eyes and was directed by the cheering crowd to the “spirit banner” within 30 seconds. The next spirit contest will be on Feb. 8 during halftime of the boys game against Santa Fe High School and is open to anyone attending the game. LAYL is sponsored by the YMCA and the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board.
