-A A +A

The League of Women Voters’ monthly Lunch with A Leader meeting will be 11:40 a.m. Dec. 17 upstairs at the Mesa Public Library.

This month’s speaker is Robert Westervelt, deputy utility manager of Finance and Administration.

If you live on Barranca Mesa or North Mesa and are participating in the Smart Meter Study, do you wonder what those rates on your emails mean? Are you in the punishment group or the reward group? What does that mean? These and other questions, as well as other information will be shared with those attending.

The two studies are supported by DPU’s partnerships with Kyoto University, Japan’s technology ministry NEDO, and Toshiba.

Also in attendance will be Julie Williams-Hill, who works with the Smart Meter Study as part of the customer service will also be presenting some of the issues that customers have been calling and asking her about. She is the “go-to” person with questions for this study.

Bob, who earned both his BA and MBA from University of New Mexico, joined the Department in Los Alamos in 2012 after 20 years of work in finance and accounting in state government and utilities.

He is responsible for the financial planning for the electric, gas, water and wastewater services, and the Electric Coordination Agreement with the United States Department of Energy.

In addition, Bob oversees the 311 Customer Care Center.
