Skate park needed now
As long as Mike Wismer has decided to bring forth a petition for the skate park to be put on the ballot, I thought it would be in the best interest of all concerned that I have been running an online petition after the Monitor survey was hacked. I am attaching the link to the petition so that if you click on the signatures section you will be able to verify that the signatures are correct and were not coerced in anyway nor were fear tactics used to get these signatures.
These are people who genuinely believe that the youth of this community have been sold short and have been given the short end of the stick. (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/LASkatepark/)
If the whole process of moving the location is an issue, I know of a newly demolished area in town that would be perfect and we can start construction on it right away, thus reducing the risk of blocking the views of the mountains by a cheaply/poorly designed and built new municipal building. Which will also reduce the new economic growth that this community has been asking you for four years.
You finally got off the ball with White Rock though the idea of more houses is akin to building a Nuclear Weapons Lab at Overlook Park or a bypass road behind the research park. Common sense needs to start prevailing in this community. The voters and people I’ve spoken to are sick and tired of the same old “crap” (their words) that you keep throwing at us. Stop the bypass road, divert the funds to the new Municipal Building site at 15th and Trinity and give in to the will of the people who put you in office or face the consequences on election day.
