As sure as winter brings snow, the holiday season brings a host of yuletide events at CB Fox.

This year the store is offering community members a chance to win a fully decorated Christmas tree – free of charge and with delivery at no cost.

The decked out tree will be on display at CB Fox’s front door Nov. 28 and 29, said store co-owner Dave Fox, adding that tickets are just $2 each or three for $5.

“We'll hold the raffle for the tree in front of the store at 5 p.m. sharp on Saturday, Nov. 29,” Fox said. “All proceeds from the raffle will go to LA Cares to immediately provide food for those in need in Los Alamos County.”

And on Saturday, Dec. 6, CB Fox will host its 24th annual holiday free drawing, which takes place at 5 p.m. sharp at the store. The grand prize for this event is a Tempur-pedic Classic Sleep System worth $1,999, which includes a queen mattress and boxspring.

“We'll also provide $1,470 worth of free drawings for $50 CB Fox gift certificates and all kinds of exceptional free things from Eagle Creek, Nambé, Camelbak, Dr. Hauschka, Riedel Wine Glasses and more,” Fox said.

Complete details of the drawings can be found at www.cbfox.com, he said.

As he has for years, Santa Claus will visit CB Fox to talk with children from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays Dec. 6, 13 and 20.

To accommodate shoppers, CB Fox will remain open from noon-4 p.m. on Sundays Dec. 7, 14 and 21. The store will be open until 8 p.m. for late shoppers on Monday Dec. 22  and Tuesday Dec. 23. The store also will stay open from 9 a.m. -3:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

CB Fox, at 1735 Central Ave., was started when Fox and his wife Anne purchased the old Clement and Brenner Department Store in 1979.

“Over the years the store has expanded to include children’s toys, world class chocolates, notable gifts such as Nambe’ ware and a furniture and mattress department that has proved successful beyond all of our expectations,” Fox said.
