Scholarships offered at UNM-LA

Merrick & Company is offering a scholarship to high school seniors graduating in 2011 within Northern New Mexico. The scholarship is available to students enrolling or enrolled at UNM-Los Alamos, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or structural engineering.
Students are  expected to utilize the course offerings at UNM-LA, but may also utilize the campus in Albuquerque as required for their curricula. The scholarship will be renewed each semester as long as the recipient maintains the eligibility requirements. The scholarship covers tuition for a total of eight semesters. Students must enroll in at least 14 credit hours per semester.
Students should be U.S. citizens and have a social security number. Applicants need a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students must have a demonstrated record of community service and leadership as well as one high school sponsored athletic achievement to be eligible. Preference is given to applicants in extracurricular activities related to engineering or science.
Students should complete a FAFSA report. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated economic need.
