July 7, 1943 to April 8, 2012
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my mother Sandy Riebe, 68, on April 8. My mother was a beautiful, kind and honest person. I will never get over the loss of my mother but I’m so relieved that she is free from illness and pain. She touched many lives in her 68 years in Los Alamos and Española, including many of those years spent working at Española Hospital.
She loved living in the Valley. She and I would spend long hours hiking and marveling at the beauty that we lived in. Mom has seven brothers and sisters: Jay, Shelly, Lorraine, Debbie, Joe, Chuck and Bruce, who all share my grief and joy that she is someplace better.
Last is her mother Clara Peterson. A parent should never have to bury a child, but thank you for your strength, love and understanding. Grandma, you were the rock in her life and continue to be the one in mine.
Please remember my mom as the wonderful carefree spirit that she was. As per her request, there will be no formal service, but that does not mean her friends should not go out and paint the town one last time for her.
Signed, Marvin Riebe
