The 15th Annual Los Alamos Empty Bowls Project will be held from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. All of the money raised from this annual event will go to support the work of Self Help Inc.For a $10 donation, attendees will choose a locally painted ceramic bowl, eat a delicious, homemade soup and bread lunch with dessert, and take the bowl home to keep. There will be live music by the Roaring Jelly band, the Four Fifths and the Hill String Quartet. The silent auction will have items ranging from original, one-of-a-kind artwork donated by local artists to Santa Fe Opera tickets, catered meals and weekend getaways.The event is produced by volunteer organizers, artists, potters, the Bowl Ladies, soup, bread and dessert makers, children, the faith community, businesses, and organizations in both Los Alamos and Santa Fe. Special thanks goes to Joyce Nickols, the coordinator of the Empty Bowls Project. Approximately 4,000 volunteer hours are given by people in the community.
