SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Police in Santa Fe say a 39-year-old woman slashed the throats of her two young sons with a razor knife but they weren't seriously hurt.
Sherry Kay Resser was booked on two counts of attempted murder after driving her children to a hospital Saturday evening.
Lt. Louis Carlos says Resser used a razor knife on the boys, but they only suffered puncture wounds and will fully recover.
A police probable cause statement obtained by the Santa Fe New Mexican says she reportedly told officers she tried killing her sons so the devil could not harm them.
She was being held without bail in the county jail Sunday afternoon. Jail records don't list a lawyer.
