Jason Halladay was the winner of the Cheri Host 5K Fun Run/Walk Saturday.
The Cheri Host event was hosted by Sage Cottage in honor of its former executive director. The run, held just two days before what would’ve been her 54th birthday, was the first of what Sage Cottage is planning as an annual event.
Host died in 2012 after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer.
“Cheri was our boss, mentor, and friend,” said Erica Spencer. “She always encouraged us to further our education, and be a part of something bigger in our community. She showed us the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and the benefit of being active.”
Halladay finished Saturday’s race, run in White Rock, in 20 minutes, 9 seconds. Vlad Henzl was the runner-up followed by Michelle Hall in third place.
