Bob Weeks was this week’s top predictor at the Atomic City Roadrunners’ pace race.
The pace race was held Tuesday with 16 runners and walkers participating. It was held in the hills overlooking S-Site.
Due at least in part to the difficult terrain near S-Site, all the race predictors were slow.
Weeks, running on the 1-mile course Tuesday, finished with an adjusted prediction error of 24 seconds, which was easily the closest prediction on either course. The only other predictor to finish with less than a triple-digit error was Anya Gonzales, who was off by 51 seconds.
The best predictor on the 3-mile course was Alexander Romero, who was off by 106 seconds. Nathan Romero, meanwhile, finished with a 117-second error on the long course.
The fastest finisher on the 3-mile course Tuesday was Tom Witherell, who posted a time of 23:00. On the short course, Tom Sandford finished in 12:57 to pace all runners.
The next pace race will be held Tuesday. The race, which will start at 6 p.m., will begin in the parking lot of the Los Alamos County Ice Rink.
