Tom Wangler was a dual winner at Tuesday night’s pace race.
Wangler was not only the fastest finisher on the 1-mile course but the best predictor on the course as well.
Tuesday’s pace race was held on trails near Pajarito Acres in White Rock. The pace race is a weekly event put on by the Atomic City Roadrunners.
Wangler missed his pre-race prediction by just 29 seconds, the best predictor on the short course, and finished the course in 14 minutes, 31 seconds.
The top predictor of the night was Ted Williams, who raced on the 3-mile course Tuesday.
Williams’ error of just 11 seconds beat out Wangler and Cuihuan Wang and Rachel Granzow, who were both 40 seconds off.
Laura McClellan was the top finisher on the long course Tuesday with her time of 24:11. David Kratzer finished in 26:36 to take top male honors.
On the 1-mile course, Inez Ross was the first female finisher (15:42).
