Inez Ross was the top predictor at the first Atomic City Roadrunners’ pace race of the season.Ross finished with a prediction error of just six seconds at Tuesday’s race, held at Sullivan Field’s track. She beat out Anya Gonzales, who missed her predicted finish time by nine seconds, while Tom Sandford was 19 seconds off his predicted time.Ted Romero was the first finisher in the 1.5-mile race, recording a time of 9:12, ahead of second-place finisher Hal Marshall (11:07). Christie Kelly was the top female finisher with a time of 12:23, while Gonzales finished at 17:09.Next week’s pace race will be held at Lower Bayo Canyon on the road toward the water treatment plant (near the junction of N.M. 4 and N.M. 502).
