Ted Romero won both ends of Tuesday’s Atomic City Roadrunners’ pace race, held at Lower Bayo Canyon.Not only was Romero the fastest finisher on the 3-mile course, crossing the line in 19 minutes, 42 seconds, he was also the best predictor in Tuesday’s race, finishing with an 108-second prediction differential.David Kratzer was the second-best predictor in Tuesday’s race, the second pace race of the season for the Roadrunners. Kratzer missed his predicted time by 114 seconds.Hal Marshall was third with a 166-second prediction error. He also was the second finisher on the long course Tuesday with a time of 22:14.Roy Cope was the fastest finisher on the 1-mile course with a time of 10:03. Elyse Phillips, a 7-year-old runner, was second on the short course with a finish of 11:18.The next pace race will be held Tuesday on the Canada del Buey Trail in White Rock.
